Tony Clyburn is the founder of XZose, an innovative leadership program that helps athletes accelerate their game, influence and income. Tony knows about big dreams. He walked into his first radio station at Age 14 and started a career. What followed are four decades of adventures as a traveler, reporter, news director, TV host, and disc jockey that have connected Tony to thousands of lives.
He covered sports as an announcer and essayist. The son of a YMCA director and homemaker, Tony grew up in a sports family. He played organized football, baseball and hockey, even coached and refereed. He worked On The Air in five states before arriving in Columbia, South Carolina, in 1987, becoming the dominant voice of afternoon radio in the state capital. A recipient of the Personality of the Year Award and STAR Award, presented by the South Carolina Broadcasters Association, Tony Clyburn is recognized for philanthropy that focuses on children, education and the arts.
Tony began XZose to help his kids, each an athlete in their own right, and found an audience among their friends and families, and coaches. XZose thought leadership was developed on the unique experiences of its founder and research that touches of the heart of an an athlete’s pursuit for recognition and reward.
Tony is a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University. He is a member of the National Speakers Association and author of a forthcoming book that chronicles his journey from teenage professional to mentor for champions.
